BIOGRAPHY:

Major Wilber F. Taylor, USMC, retired, was born in Rincon, NM on December 27, 1924 and died on August 13, 2006 in Las Cruces, NM. He entered the Navy in June of 1943 and was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 1946. As a Marine, he served in North China from 1946 to 1949, at the Crane Naval Ammunition Depot from 1949 to 1950. He was awarded the Bronze Star for service in the Korean conflict; he then served in various recruiting, artillery, instructional and aviation units until his retirement in 1966 and relocation to Las Cruces NM.
